The Common Law Admission Test - CLAT 2018
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance test for admission to UG, PG and Integrated law courses. The duration of the exam is of 2 hours which consists of multiple choice questions based on English, General Knowledge, Mathematics and Legal & Logical Reasoning.
For the UG and integrated course, minimum academic requirement that is required is 10 2 level while for the PG courses; the candidates should have a UG degree in Law.
The online application for CLAT 2018 will be available from 1st January 2018 till 31st March 2018 (tentative).
CLAT 2018 Eligibility CriteriaThe eligibility criterion for CLAT 2018 is as the following:
The candidates should successfully complete their class 12 or other equivalent examination scoring a minimum of 45% marks while the SC/ST candidates should score a minimum of 40% marks.For PG:
The candidates appearing for the PG courses should successfully complete their LLB or 5 year Integrated LLB degree or other equivalent degree from a recognized university, scoring a minimum of 55% marks. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category should score a minimum of 50% marks.Age Limit:

CLAT 2018 Application Form
The candidates can only avail online application form for CLAT 2018 from their official website and there are no offline forms available for the candidates. The online forms will be available from 1st week of January 2018 and it is advisable for the candidates to keep checking the CLAT 2018 official website to get regular updates.
How to Apply for CLAT 2018
The candidates are required to apply online for CLAT 2018 examination. Beside online registration, there are no other modes of submitting the CLAT 2018 application.
CLAT 2018 Application Fees
For general candidates: 4000/-
For reserved category candidates: 3500/-
The payment can be made online by logging on to the CLAT 2018 website through net banking, debit card or credit card.
After the CLAT 2018 results are declared, the selected candidates are required to sit for online counselling. The allotment of institutions and seats would be based on the score in CLAT 2018 in merit-list and the choice take by the candidates and availability of seat in desired university.
CLAT 2018 Exam Pattern
For UG Courses
The CLAT 2018 UG paper will be a 2 hour-long duration paper consisting of 200 multiple choice questions carrying only one mark. However, for every incorrect answer, there will be a provision for 25 % negative marking. The question paper will cover the following subject areas:
- Reasoning – 40 Q
- Legal Aptitude – 50 Q
- English & Comprehension – 40 Q
- Elementary Mathematics – 20 Q
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs – 50 Q
For PG Courses
The CLAT 2018 PG paper will be of 2 hours duration consisting of 150 multiple choice questions carrying 1 marks each. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. The question paper will cover the following subject areas:

- Jurisprudence – 50 Q
- Other law subjects – 50 Q
