Suppose the student wants to attempt for physics, chemistry and biology can opt for part 1, 2 and 4. On the other hand for physics, chemistry and mathematics, one has to go for parts 1, 2 and 3. If the student had both mathematics and biology, then he will only have the option of attempting either parts 1, 2 and 3 or parts 1, 2 and 4.

The question paper will have 120 questions set in English. Each question carries 1 mark and the duration for which is 150 minutes. There will be objective type questions with one right answer. However, there are no negative markings for wrong answers.

The question paper for Physics will have 40 questions. Topics like Heat and thermodynamics have the highest weightage, which is followed by magnetic effect of current. Other topics such as current electricity or gravitation have more or less the same weightage. The students are required to study these topics thoroughly before attempting the exam.

The question paper for Chemistry will have 40 questions. While preparing, the student should give special attention to chemical bonding and atomic structure which have the highest weightage of marks. Other important topics include biomolecules, p-block elements or electrochemistry.

The question paper for Mathematics will have 40 questions. The most important chapters in Mathematics are Calculus, circles and trigonometry, but a thorough study of all the topics is equally important.
The question paper for Biology will have 40 questions. Some important topics in Biology include Genetics, evolution, microbiology and immunology, molecular biology and biotechnology which must be done thoroughly.
