Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)

Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is a national level entrance test that is conducted by AICTE or the All India Council for Technical Education every year. All the proceedings are conducted per the instructions from the MHRD, which is the agglomeration of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

CMAT Recognition and Pattern Changes

CMAT 2018 is a national level admission test, which is your ticket for admission to different management programs approved by AICTE. It will be conducted in 2018 on the basis of an entrance exam that determines the scores. Earlier there used to be two examinations conducted in a year. Usually around September and one during the month of February. Then scores for both would be used for entrance to management institutes. A candidate had the option to appear for both and pick the best scores. However, this may change from 2018 with AICTE announcing that they will only conduct one exam this year.

CMAT 2018 Important Dates

  • Registration Start date- 20th October 2017
  • Registration End date - 15th December 2017
  • Exam Date - 21st January 2018

CMAT 2018 Test Eligibility 

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam.
  • Final year students of Graduate Courses (10 2 3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2018-19 can also apply for CMAT online exam.

CMAT 2018 Test Fee

  • General/OBC: Rs.1400 Bank charges as applicable
  • SC/ST/PD: Rs.700 Bank charges as applicable

CMAT 2018 Exam Pattern

CMAT 2018 is a completely CBT or computer based test. CMAT 2018 would have 4 sections with multiple choice questions.

  • Duration of the CMAT 2018: 3 hours (180 minutes)
  • Time per section in CMAT 2018: 45 minutes

Marking scheme for CMAT 2016 should be kept in mind. You will be given 4 marks per correct answer and in case of incorrect answers 1 mark will be deducted from the same.

CMAT 2018 Payment Process

ONLINE Payment: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking

Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation E-mail and SMS. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process

CASH Payment in SBI bank: You can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a CHALLAN on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 PRINT OUTS of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch with CASH on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation

E.g.If you Generate and Print the Challan copies on 24th October, 2017, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 25th October, 2017 onwards.

NOTE:The last date to pay CASH in bank is 15th December 2017 and from there onwards to complete registration is 17th December 2017. Submission of final application after payment will not be possible after 17th December, 2017.

CMAT 2018 Admit Card

Admit cards for CMAT are available online which is also the official site for the same. Once the required procedures have been done, you will get the 2018 admit card here. The same can be downloaded from the website and it is not sent via post or individual couriers.

CMAT 2018 Result

One can check the result online which is declared around March. Merit lists are provided to the respective State Governments. Then the government allots candidates central counseling procedures for admissions. In the absence of the same, the candidates can apply to their preferred university using the scores.
